michael jackson - hand down
I haven't posted about Michael Jackson yet. It's two week old news at this point, so I'll make it brief.

I absolutely LOVE Michael Jackson. I think he's the greatest talent we will see in our lifetime. After growing up with his music for most of my 26 years, he is STILL mezmorizing to watch. When he stepped on the stage, he transformed. His passion, committment, physicality, and connection to his performance is inspiring, not only for other singers and dancers, but for a training actor (like myself) as well. It's still hard to believe we are now living in a world without MJ. If I can take one positive thing out of this horrible loss, it is that I have rediscovered my adoration for Michael Jackson and have more appreciation for him now than ever.

Thank you Michael. Music would simply not be what it is without your genius talent.

14th-Jun-2009 11:30 pm - I collect buttons!
upside down teddy
So, I tend to spend money on small, useless trinkets that I neither need nor that I can afford. It's an addiction and should probably be treated professionally. Last week it was scrapbooking thingamabobs, yesterday it was wallpaper samples, and today it was on BUTTONS, of all things. I like buttons. Who doesn't? And this site has a LOT of buttons!!

My purchases from Etsy.com:

and a matching ring...

I can't wait! I love getting stuff in the mail!

12th-Jun-2009 03:08 am - I am converted
joker head bang
So I graduated from University of Winnipeg last Friday. My parents insisted I go to convocation, even though I didn't want to, but I'm glad I went. It wasn't nearly as long as I expected it to be. For my grad present, my parents offered to buy me a lap top. I fully intended on getting a PC, but ended up getting a MacBook. So far I really like it! The Photobooth application is rediculously funny. Perhaps one of these days I'll have the courage to post a short video clip so I can say hi to all my friends that I never get to see. But only if you're good.

It's 3:14. I have been on this machine for way too long. Nighty night turds!

13th-May-2009 06:23 pm - Back from the dead
christian oooh
I don't know why I don't post here. It kind of goes in sparatic chunks, then dies for months at a time. Huh.

Lets see... lets see... I am now DONE University! I will be graduating on June 5th with a BA and 2 majors: Theatre/Film (Acting) and Classics (Greek & Roman history). My parents are insisting I go to my grad ceremony. I never intended on going, I would have been perfectly happy getting my paper in the mail. But I guess I can give them one day for all the money they put into my education. SO glad to be done with school!

So now I will be focusing on my acting and training training training! While I am working at my day job, the rest of my time will be devoted to trying to get as much film work as possible. The goal for next summer is to make the trip to Vancouver (with my friend Pilar) and make some connectons and, hopefully, sign with an agent. It's going to take a LOT of saving and planning, but it's a necessary step to move forward.

After having hardly travelled at ALL in the past 3 years, I am looking forward to 2 potential trips this summer. First, the annual family holiday out west to the mountains at the end of July. This year my dad wants to cross the border down to Montana and see the US side of Waterton Glacier Park. It will be weird if we don't go to Banff (it's like a second home), but I am looking forward to it nonetheless. I love the mountains!

And the following week, it looks like I might FINALLY be going back to LA. I haven't been there since 2005 for the Common Rotation rooftop show. And even that show, I wouldn't have made it to if I hadn't got a free flight! I do miss that city and my friends that I haven't seen in way too long ([info]hackergroupie *waves*). It seems like every time I go, it's with a different person. This time, if everything works out (which hasn't been happening at ALL lately), I'll probably be going with my pal Christy - someone from Winnipeg for a change!

Other than that, the last bit of exciting news for me... I am seeing RUSSELL PETERS in October!! Second row!!!! Bringing Pilar with me! I am SO excited!!!

I seriously doubt anyone will read my posts anymore, since I never actually POST, but there it is anyway.

I just wanted to use one of my new Wall-E icons. I just love him to bits and pieces!

Man, I really should get to bed. I have school and work tomorrow. UGH. It's 2am and I have to be up at 6. I'm so screwed.

My prof said "butthole" yesterday during our lecture. He's so cool.

COLIN - won a Golden Globe! Good for you, you SEXY boy!

JONATHAN - should have won.
MARK - damn dude. Stay sexy.
KATE - one of the best actresses around... two well-deserved awards!
TINA - funny. as. hell.

CHRISTIAN - where the HELL were YOU tonight?! All my other boys were there!

Also, who the hell is this Mickey Rorque guy from "The Wrestler"? Did this guy just get out of jail or something?

11th-Jan-2009 01:35 am - Meh
MELTON!
It seems I have been neglecting my LJ lately. Nothing much going on though, really.

I have ONE class this semester, so naturally I made the mistake of thinking this was going to be an easy semester. A 30-45 minute presentation and a 4000 word essay says otherwise. My class is Topics in Ancient History: Ancient Waterways. Yes, that's 4000 words on WATER! I don't know who this prof thinks he is, but in my 4 years of writing Classics papers I have only ever had to write 2000 (and only ONCE), the rest were 1500 word papers.

The topic I chose was fountains. It should be interesting... but not 4000 words worth of interesting! More than half the semester's classes are student presentations - each has a different topic - right up until exams. Maybe I'm wrong, but it sounds to me like this guy just doesn't want to lecture or something?

Although, I must say... he is quite funny. I don't know what it is about my Classics teachers, but have been considerably more quirky and entertaining than any of my theatre profs!

12th-Dec-2008 12:20 am - Help: Need scenes from a play!
upside down teddy
I need some help from all you theatre buffs...

I have to choose a scene from a play by either David Mamet, Tennessee Williams OR Neil Simon. So far the only one I have found is "The Glass Menagerie". If anyone is familiar with the works of these playwrights, can you point me in the direction of plays with a 20-something female character and a 30-45 year old male character (for my scene partner)? I don't even know where to begin looking... there are so many to look at.

Please and thanks!

10th-Dec-2008 10:50 pm - Europe... 2010?
FROSTY!
Sooooo the word is that [info]regan117 and I will now be taking our Europe: West to East tour in 2010 instead of this summer (2009). It's all Regan's fault. She's a tool. Haha k/j turd. Not but really, it's ok. I'm glad we are still doing the tour we wanted and not settling for something lesser just so we can go sooner. Ultimately, it's probably going to be the best choice.

In the meantime, I may accompany Regan to LA in March, so we can stalk Christian Bale and Robert Pattinson, respectively. If anyone in LA knows where Christian Bale, like... goes... please let me know. Don't worry, I won't bother him, I just wanna stare inappropriately. I won't be one of those people who gives Christian some lame fan gift. I will, however, do the world a service by helping Regan buy Robert a bottle of shampoo.

28th-Oct-2008 09:08 am - This shit is whack
word playa
I am so tired of doing research for papers and I still have 3 more to finish by the end of November. To keep from cramming and running out of time, I need to have my next project done by next week, ideally. I work 3 days this week (including Halloween 4-11) and I have an all-day acting workshop on Sat. and Sun. that I still need to prepare for. I need to memorize two scenes and get new headshots printed by Friday.

AAAAND I need to call the courts downtown to try and get out of fucking JURY DUTY on November 27th since it's right in the middle of when all my papers are due and a week before exams! Blaaaaaah!

The last (and only) time I visited the courthouse was in high school with my Law class. I sat in for a civil trial on a car accident and my friend and I started laughing uncontrollably at the use of the word "skidmark". I, myself, tend to live outside the law. That's right, I'm a badass. I'd make the worst jurer EVER.

DA JURREEEEEEE! *snap*
